Writers' Group PDF Print E-mail

It’s been said that everyone has a book in them. Most people’s excuse for not writing that book is that they lack the time so, as much as anything else, writers’ group exists to give people time. Time that is set aside for the specific purpose of talking about writing, thinking about writing, or even writing.

Linden’s writers’ group meets about once a month for an hour or two. At most meetings we will do some off-the-cuff writing on a given subject, before sharing what we’ve written for comment and constructive criticism. We’re also encouraged to bring with us anything that we’ve worked on ahead of the meeting.

Sometimes we’ll write on topics suggested by the Sunday morning talks, for example, the journey; other times we’ll write on more general themes, like hope; and yet other times we’ll write on humorous, serious or personal anecdotes, such as ‘What I would be if I wasn’t what I am’. Sometimes we even write on paper.

It may not be true that everyone has a book in them but we all have a story to tell. Writers’ group provides a safe and encouraging environment in which to do that.

If you would like to join writers group or submit a piece of writing, contact us.

Take a look at some of the work that has been produced over the years.
