Our charity auction at the end of January was a great success with nearly £2,000 being raised for Mutende Children's Village in Zambia.

The next big events to put in your diary all centre on Fairtrade Fortnight. From 22nd February to 5th March the community cafe is open at Red with a Fairtrade Special each day. Come along and sample cookies and brownies all made as far as possible with fairtrade and locally-sourced ingredients. The cafe will be open from 10 am - 3 pm each weekday. There's free internet access and it's very child-friendly with a large play area and lots of toys and activities.

Smack bang in the middle of Fairtrade Fortnight, as the focus is on fairtrade tea, along with venues all over the country, we're holding a tea-dance at Linden Christian Centre! Think Strictly Come Dancing - although sequins are optional! It's happening from 6 - 8.30 pm and everyone's welcome. There'll be instruction from our resident Bruce & Cat and don't worry if you don't have a partner! We'll get into pairs on the night plus there'll be  individual dancing. As well as the fairtrade stall and tea, coffee and cakes.

Not Linden events but before you come to the tea-dance, you can fill up on a locally-sourced lamb dinner plus fairtrade dessert at the Towers Hotel on Jersey Marine for just £5! Usually lunch there would cost you £15 so this is a bargain once-in-lifetime opportunity! And round off Fairtrade Fortnight at a fashion show at the Maritime Museum on 5th March at 7.30 pm.
